    Capt. Cathal O'Connor, commander Amphibious Squadron 11, speaks with members of the armed forces of the Philippines aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). The Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, are participating in the Amphibious Landing Exercise, an annual bilateral exercise held with the Armed Forces of the Philipinnes. Bonhomme Richard is the lead ship of the only forward-deployed amphibious ready group and is currently operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility. The U.S. Navy is constantly deployed to preserve peace, protect commerce, and deter aggression through forward presence.
