Illinois Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 106th Aviation Regiment conduct Combat Water Survival Training May 22, 2022 at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. This training allows for a simulated environment, meant to assist Soldiers in developing survival skills to help prepare for situations such as helicopter crashes near large masses of water. “It’s good to have these experiences with one another,” said 1st Lt. Jonathan Mercado. “Being able to conduct this training successfully is going to identify who may need additional support and ensure success for follow on missions.”
