(May 16, 2022) Builder Constructionman William Schimmel, with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, washes construction equipment during a Mount-Out Exercise onboard Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, May 17. The exercise demonstrated their ability to deploy an Air Detachment with construction equipment in 48-hours to any location around the globe. The U.S. Navy Seabees with NMCB-5 are homeported out of Port Hueneme. They train on high-quality construction, expeditionary logistics, and combat operations to execute construction and engineering projects for major combat operations, disaster response, and humanitarian assistance.
