Carver McGriff, a U.S. Army Veteran of the 90th Infantry Division sits for an interview with the Armed Forces Network "AFN Europe", June 4, 2022, during the 90th Infantry Division Tribute and 78th Liberation Commemoration Ceremony, at Le Plessis-Lastelle, France. McGriff was sent to England where he was assigned to a machine gun squad in the 90th Infantry Division and was held in reserve during the Invasion of Normandy. McGriff said, "it was an honor to be part of what happened in Normandy." After being wounded, McGriff was captured by the Germans July 7, 1944.
