    84th Training Command

Command Sgt. Maj. Scott Hinton, the 84th Training Command’s senior enlisted advisor, presents World War II Veteran Pfc. Reid Clanton with keepsakes in appreciation for his World War II service during a ceremony held in his honor May 16, 2022, at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas. U.S. Army North leaders paid special tribute to and awarded Clanton long-overdue medals for his service with the 84th Infantry Division during the war. Clanton enlisted in the U.S. Army at 18 years old, May 19, 1943, and his first combat assignment in a forward artillery observer team with the 29th Infantry Division landed him on Omaha Beach on D-Day.
