A B-52H Stratofortress has its engines started via cartridge starters May 17, 2022, at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. For rapid takeoff operations, the cartridge starters are used to instantly ignite the aircraft’s engines, allowing them to take off much faster than standard takeoff procedures.
