French child holds a 10th Mountain Division charm by Omaha Beach, in Normandy, France, June 1, 2022. Many of the citizens in Normandy are very grateful for the efforts of the service members who fought during D-Day and appreciate the units associated with the Battle of Normandy. The 10th Mountain Division was not in existence during the D-Day invasion, however, the division falls under the XVIII Airborne Corps, which is associated with units such as the 82nd Airborne Division and 101 Airborne Division, that did participate in the battle.
