FORT CHAFFEE, ARKANSAS - Today's Soldier of the Day is Chief Warrant Officer 2nd Grade Rynne Banks of Springdale, Ark. Chief Banks is a Medical Evacuation Pilot with G Company 3-238th General Support Aviation Battalion.
Banks and his crew run mission essential casualty evacuation flights for the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and the 77th Combat Aviation Brigade in a UH-60L Blackhawk Helicopter.
When he's not in the air you can find Banks in the lecture hall at UALR where he is a full-time student seeking a Bachelors of Science in Physics. His time in the air and his time in the classroom both contribute to his long-term goal of becoming an Experimental Test Pilot, working with the newest of aviation technology.
He credits his expertise and leadership to being a life-long student. In his own word's, "At no point in your aviation career are you a master of everything. You're always learning."
