ANNAPOLIS, Md. (May 2, 2022) Grand Marshal Professor Graham Cheek leads the academic procession in the U.S. Naval Academy’s Class of 2022 graduation and commissioning ceremony at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Graham Cheek carries the Naval Academy’s mace, a symbol of academic authority, as he leads more than 546 faculty members -- both uniformed military and civilian educators -- from five divisions and 18 departments. The U.S. Naval Academy’s Class of 2022 graduated 1,100 midshipmen in a ceremony where President Joseph R. Biden Jr. delivered graduation remarks as the guest speaker.
