PHILIPPINE SEA (June 10, 2022) Sailors, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 3, prepare the fast rope insertion extraction system (FRIES) on an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the “Chargers” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 14, aboard the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) prior to a helicopter visit, board, search and seizure (HVBSS) exercise in conjunction with the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105). Abraham Lincoln Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability through alliances and partnerships while serving as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
