U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Kyle Folkers, a combat engineer with 1st Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, joined the United States Marine Corps because he wanted to better himself and set up opportunities for his future.
“I wasn’t ready for college yet,” Folkers said, “This would really give me the chance to figure out what I can do in the future.”
Folkers is currently participating in his unit's Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation. When asked why he continues to do what he does in the Marines, he responded with “I enjoy doing this, the camaraderie I get with my team and squad is amazing also, being able to work and train with them is a real privilege.”
