Soldiers from Delta Company, 239th Brigade Engineer Battalion conduct preflight inspections on the AAI RQ-7 Shadow on June 7 at Fort Chaffee, Ark. The Shadow is an unmanned aircraft system used for a variety of operations ranging from reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition and battle damage assessment. Once loaded onto a pneumatic catapult, the aircraft is rail-launched into the air where it can operate for up to 9 continuous hours.
