Assistant Professor of Military Science, Lt. Col. Joseph Snyder, administers the National Guard Oath of Office to graduating Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) 2nd Lts. Ryan R. Baxter, Bailey R. Breving, Micah J. Burke, Isabella W, Retzlaff, Rionna J. Zeller during the Oregon State University ROTC commissioning ceremony at McAlexander Fieldhouse in Corvallis, Oregon, June 10, 2022. Because of the unique dual nature of the National Guard as both a state and federal service, officers in the Oregon Army National Guard must take a State of Oregon Oath of Office as well as the Federal Oath of Office. After the oaths are administered, the newly commissioned second lieutenants are pinned with a gold bar and given their First Salute. Thirteen cadets were commissioned as officers.
