U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Gilberto Miranda, an aircraft mechanic with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 269, receives a Chief of Naval Operations 2020 Naval Aviation Safety Award from Col. Richard D. Joyce, the commanding officer of Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 29, at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, June 9, 2022. The chief of naval operations recognized the squadron for its outstanding safety record during aircraft operations in support of the United States Marine Corps Forces Command.
