Lt. Col. Matthew Rivera's grandfather, Ignacio Rivera, seen highlighted in yellow, takes a photo with the Guam Combat Patrol team July 1945. The Guam Combat Patrol team was established to conduct reconnaissance, patrolling, and raid activities to capture the hidden remnants of Japanese enemy forces hiding and conducting operations after the Guam Liberation on July 21, 1945.
