Aviator Inducted Into Order of St. Michael

In a ceremony held in the Al Faw Palace at Camp Victory, Iraq, Jan. 14, Maj. Gen. James E. Simmons, Multi-National Corps-Iraq, Deputy Commanding General for Support presented Maj. Anthony E. Arthur, Multi-National Corps-Iraq, C3 Air Current Operations Watch Officer, with the Order of St. Michael Medallion (bronze). The award history states that St. Michael is referred to in Biblical writings as an archangel who wages war against evil. He is known as the heavenly prince or champion, charged specifically to guard and defend others. The legendary image of Saint Michael defeating the dragon exemplifies the bravery and gallantry that we associate with the aviation Soldiers.
