PACIFIC OCEAN (June 24, 2022) Sailors, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 3, observe Sailors fast-roping from the cabin of an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter, assigned to the “Chargers” of Helicopter Sea Combat squadron (HSC) 14, during a helicopter visit, board, search and seizure (HVBSS) drill in conjunction with the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group (ABECSG) and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter destroyer JS Izumo (DDH-184). ABECSG is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet. An integral part of U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. 3rd Fleet leads naval forces in the Indo-Pacific and provides the realistic, relevant training necessary to flawlessly execute our Navy’s role across the full spectrum of military operations—from combat operations to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
