U.S. Air Force Col. Melissa J. Dooley, outgoing 35th Medical Group (MDG) commander, passes the guidon to Col. Jesse J. Friedel, 35th Fighter Wing commander, as she relinquishes command during a change of command ceremony at Misawa Air Base, Japan, June 24, 2022. Dooley served as the 35th MDG commander from July 2020 to June 2022. During that time, she commanded and developed a group of five squadron commanders and 400 personnel in support of a 23-bed hospital with the capability of expanding to 75 beds during contingency operations.
