U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. John M. Gomez Jr., a close-quarters battle (CQB) instructor with Training Company, Marine Corps Security Forces Regiment (MCSFR), explains target accuracy to personnel from the Chesapeake Police Department's Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team and the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Special Response Team (SRT) at IAMS Range, Naval Support Activity Northwest Annex, Virginia, June 21, 2022. MCSFR CQB instructors led various live-fire qualifications, movement to contact drills and guided discussions on CQB tactics with personnel from the DOE’s SRT, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Special Agents, the Chesapeake Police Department's SWAT Team and the Pentagon Force Protection Agency’s Emergency Response Team. MCSFR capitalized on the interagency training evolution to enhance CQB capabilities and knowledge for U.S. Marine CQB instructors and all participating agency operators further equipping anti-terrorism security forces for vital national assets.
