U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Arthur Freeman, a Psychological Operation Specialist with 5th Air Naval Gunfire Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, shows communication equipment to Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Capt. Tsutomu Gompei and Col. Yoshiaki Himeda from the Intelligence School and Lt. Col. Akikazu Shibasaki from the Ground Component Command during Okinawa, Japan, June 24, 2022. The purpose of this visit was to strengthen ties with Japan as well as showcase III MIG’s abilities. III MIG functions as the vanguard of III MEF, operating in the Indo-Pacific regions information environment, and supports Marine Air Ground Task Force operations with communications, intelligence, and supporting arms liaison capabilities.
