Green Berets with 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), Sailors with Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 1, and Airmen with the Tactical Air Control Party, 604th Air Support Operations Squadron conduct tactical combat casualty care at Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea, April 11-14, 2022. Participants trained on a wide range of skills including proper application of tourniquets, chest seals, needle decompression, nasopharyngeal airway, establishing IV access, walking blood blank transfusions, pressure dressings and crico-thyrotomy. Participants also honed their skills applying a splint, bag-valve-mask, junctional tourniquet, and suturing to improve prolonged field care. Following the classroom portion, participants conducted full MARCH (massive hemorrhage, airway, respirations, circulation, head injury/hypothermia) sequences and trauma runs under stressful conditions while being blindfolded and in moving vehicles. At the end of the training, Green Berets and their joint partners improved their ability to confidently manage a trauma patient both individually and as a team.
