Capt. James R. McIver, installation commanding officer at Naval Station Newport, "high fives" young spectators at the 237th Bristol, RI 4th of July Parade. McIver served as the Military Division Marshal for the parade. The military division featured units from the installation, including Marine Corps Detachment Newport, Navy Supply Corps School, Officer Training Command Newport, Navy Band Northeast and a contingent of USS Milwaukee (LCS 5) which was anchored in Bristol Harbor as part of the military support of the town's Independence Day events.
