YOKOSUKA, Japan (Jul. 6, 2022) — Command Master Chief Robert Beachy, Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka's (CFAY) command master chief, left, CDR Lida Cooper, chief staff officer, CFAY, center left, Charlene DuBose, Navy Exchange (NEX) Yokosuka's general manager, center right, and Lt. Col. Michael Kerschbaum, Commander, Stars and Stripes, cut a celebratory cake during a ceremony for the NEX Yokosuka's award as the best exchange in mainland Japan for Stars and Stripes' Best of Pacific 2022-2023 contest. For more than 75 years, Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
