Gerd Drechsler, Commander, 6981st Civilian Support Group, welcomes guests to the 6981st CSG 70th Anniversary celebrations. The 6981st CSG celebrated its 70th Anniversary July 18, 2022 in Germersheim, Germany.
The 6981st CSG began May 2, 1952 with the activation of the 6981st LS Signal Construction Battalion.
The 6981st CSG's mission is to engineer, install, maintain, and repair Mission Command network cable infrastructure in order to provide cost and time efficient, high value support to Army, joint, and multinational forces in support of USAREUR-AF and combatant commanders.
