Medics from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 181st Infantry Regiment, 44th Infantry Brigade Combat Team document the mock treatments provided to a Soldiers role playing as a wounded enemy prisoners in preparation to move the wounded to higher medical care, during a Mass Casualty drill during the eXportable Combat Training Exercise (XCTC) exercise at Ft. Drum, N.Y. on July 19, 2022. A Mass Casualty exercise tests a medical unit's ability to respond to multiple casualties arriving at the Battalion Aid Station in a short amount of time. More than 2,500 Soldiers are participating in the training event, which enables brigade combat teams to achieve the trained platoon readiness necessary to deploy, fight, and win. The Soldiers from the 181st are part of the Massachusetts Army National Guard and the rest of the 44th Infantry Brigade is composed of units from New Jersey.
