U.S. Army National Guard medics with the South Carolina Army National Guard conduct a field training exercise as culmination of their medical sustainment training at McCrady Training Center, July 7, 2022, Eastover, South Carolina. The collective technical and tactical training was 12 days long and consisted of updated information and re-certification of the medics’ National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Certification. This was also an opportunity to amplify proficiency in critical skills needed when providing tactical combat casualty care. During the final field training exercise, medics established an aid station for acute care and delayed evacuation casualty care, and replicated extracting casualties under low light, while under simulated indirect fire and machine gun fire.
