Matt McGuire, an electrician with Little Piping & Mechanical, wires power July 14 for a room at barracks building 3713, which is serving as a model for the ongoing renovation efforts in 1st BCT’s footprint. Seventeen barracks built in the 1970s through Project Volunteer Army, or VOLAR, are slated for renovations through the project, and the Directorate of Public Works aims to complete at least two per year.
