220725-N-XB010-1007 SOUTH CHINA SEA (July 25, 2022) Sailors assigned to the forward-deployed amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans’ (LPD 18) and Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) approach a AH-1Z Cobra helicopter with a blade fold rack on New Orleans’ flight deck. New Orleans, part of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
