From left to right, the Honorable Mr. Jonathan Pratt, U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti, Dr. Ahmed Robleh Abdilleh, ministre de la Santé de Djibouti, and U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Jami Shawley, commanding general of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), gather for a photo at the opening of the expansion of Djibouti’s Ministry of Health’s PK12 Field Hospital in Balbala, Djibouti, July 20, 2022.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with Djibouti’s Ministry of Health, U.S. Embassy development specialists, and Civil Affairs, the service members of CJTF-HOA’s 319th Engineer Support Company successfully added a five-bed
intensive care unit, and a 30-bed isolation facility with bathrooms, which doubles the capacity of the PK12 Field Hospital. This work enables medical professionals from Civil Affairs to conduct critical training with their counterparts from the Ministry of Health. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. 1st Class Michael Davis Jr.)
