NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. (July 28, 2022) – U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Brendan Mullin, a combat photographer with U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Southern Command, poses for a self-portrait while embarking the Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport ship USNS Burlington (T-EPF-10) prior to its deployment to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of responsibility. Mullin is embarked aboard Burlington as a part of the Integrated Information and Intelligence Support Team (I3ST), consisting of intelligence and communication strategy and operations Marines. The I3ST is a concept designed to use task organized Marine Corps forces to enable naval operations on ships and ashore, advancing the capabilities of the Navy/Marine Corps team. Burlington is deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations to support expeditionary maintenance to deployed littoral combat ships operating in the region and conduct theater security cooperation engagements to maintain access, enhance interoperability, and build enduring partnerships in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
