Philip Goldberg, U.S. ambassador to South Korea, Gen. Paul LaCamera, commander of United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and U.S. Forces Korea, and senior staff welcomed a congressional delegation led by Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi at Republic of Korea, Aug. 3, 2022. During the visit to Korea the delegation met with Korean National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo along with senior ROK officials, spoke with the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-yeol, toured the Joint Security Area / Demilitarized Zone, and spoke with service members at the JSA and Osan Air Base.
This visit was part of a congressional delegation tour around several Asian countries to reaffirm the United States' commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and stability in the region. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Kris Bonet)
