U.S. Army Spc. Joseph Lezman, a combat medic with the 1436th Engineer Vertical Construction Company, and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Christopher Jordan, a structural craftsman with the 378th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, change a cable on a clamshell door at Prince Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Aug. 8, 2022. The 1436th EVCC augments a variety of 378th ECES shops, including the structures shop, the water and fuel systems shop, the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning shop, and the pavements and construction equipment shop. The structures shop handles the construction and repair of PSAB infrastructure. To do this Airmen and Soldiers erect tents and buildings, and replace or reinforce damaged or worn-out structural parts. Though PSAB will remain semi-permanent, construction and maintenance occur to accept follow-on forces, increase air and land power capabilities, and reaffirm the U.S.’s growing partnership with the KSA.
