U.S. Marines, who are also members of the Navajo Nation, pose for a photo at the Navajo Code Talker Memorial in Window Rock, Az., August 13, 2022. The Marines met to discuss their participation in a ceremony for the National Navajo Code Talkers Day, which has been observed every August 14 since 1982. The Marines had never met each other before, but quickly found common ground through their shared military service and Navajo heritage. The Navajo Marines expressed pride, gratitude, and a sense of responsibility to live up to the legacy started by the Navajo Code Talkers. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Leslie Alcaraz)
