    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit       

    U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Karime Casas, a supply chain and material management specialist with Combat Logistic Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit ties a tourniquet around the arm of a simulated casualty during a combat life-saver course aboard USS New Orleans (LPD 18), Philippine Sea, Aug. 11, 2022. Casas is a native of Los Angeles, California. The purpose of the combat life-saver course is for the Marines to practice and sharpen their tactical combat casualty care skills in preparation for possible real-world situations. The 31st MEU is operating aboard the ships of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo–Pacific Region.
