U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Cole Kitchin, an infantry Marine with Battalion Landing Team 2/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, demonstrates misfire procedures with a M2HB .50-caliber machine gun aboard USS Miguel Keith (ESB-5), in the Philippine Sea, Aug. 13, 2022. BLT 2/5 conducted weapons training to further educate their Marines on different weapons platforms. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of Amphibious Assault Ship USS Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
