Ghost Brigade Soldiers attended training involving maintenance and operation on the new DVHA1 Stryker on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, on August 23, 2022. Ghost Brigade mechanics and operators are focused on cross-training to become subject matter experts and bring that knowledge back to their formations to teach and mentor other Soldiers regarding the new Stryker variation.
According to Ken Poturica, lead instructor in the operator new equipment training, the most noteworthy upgrade to the DHVA1 Stryker is the Double V-Hull bottom. This change to the strykers provides a better shield against improvised explosive devices.
With the ample amount of education and dedication necessary for this extreme change in the brigade's history, soldiers must be focused on the goal - to prepare the Ghost Brigade for combat, to overmatch our enemy, and to keep soldiers safe. (U.S. Army photos by Sgt. Laurie Ellen Wash)
