Charles Darson, the substance abuse counseling center director for 3rd Marine Logistics Group, instructs Marines, Sailors, and civilians during a Professional Military Education workshop on force preservation at Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 29, 2022. The workshop provided discussion and education to commanders and staff on force preservation efforts for 3rd MLG Marines and Sailors. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
