U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Cody Forsythe, an F/A-18E Super
Hornet pilot assigned to Carrier Air Wing 5, and a
Newport Beach, California native, walks with his wife
upon his return to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni,
Japan, Aug. 17, 2022. The air wing’s return marked the
completion of their most recent deployment aboard the
USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76), where they provided
airpower to protect U.S. forces and allies as they flew
missions in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific (U.S.
