Shawn Hamilton, 27th Special Operations Maintenance Group honorary commander and owner of several Clovis businesses, operates a 105 mm artillery cannon under the supervision of U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeants Manuel Castellanos and Alex Almarales, both 17th Special Operations Squadron aerial gunners, during a live fire exercise as part of an honorary commander flight on Aug. 24, 2022, over Melrose Air Force Range, New Mexico. The honorary commander program educates influential community members about Air Force Special Operations Command in order to foster public support for Cannon and to help leaders collectively address matters affecting military and civilian communities.
