BALTIC SEA (Aug. 30, 2022) The Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), the Swedish Visby-class corvette HSwMS Härnösand (K33), the Swedish Visby-class corvette HSwMS Nyköping (K34), the Swedish Carlskrona-class auxiliary support ship HSwMS Carlskrona (P04), the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44), the Swedish Stockholm-class corvette HSwMS Malmö (P 12), the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24), the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Paul Ignatius (DDG 117), the Swedish Visby-class corvette HSwMS Karlstad (K35), and the Swedish Visby-class corvette HSwMS Helsingborg (K32) break away from formation after a maneuvering exercise in the Baltic Sea, Aug. 30, 2022. Paul Ignatius is part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, under the command and control of Task Force 61/2, on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
