In 2020, the 1st Fighter Wing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., and Air Combat Command's science and technology team took the lead to protect Airmen from the heat, using a battery-powered cooling vest. The cooling technology has increased productivity on the flight line by decreasing the amount of down time Airmen need to recover.
