U.S. Navy Hospitalman Seaman Justin Bullard, a Memphis, Tennessee native and a corpsman with Battalion Landing Team 2/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and Marines with BLT 2/5, 31st MEU, load a simulated casualty into a Marine Corps UH-1Y Huey during a casualty evacuation exercise aboard USS New Orleans (LPD 18), in the Sea of Japan, Sept. 4, 2022. This training establishes confidence and familiarity between the Marines and Sailors for in-flight medical treatment. The 31st MEU is operating aboard the ships of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region.
