220904-N-XB010-1004 SEA OF JAPAN (Sept. 4, 2022) – Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class David Guerra, from San Antonio, Texas, provides instructions during a night exercise on combat rubber raiding crafts (CRRCs) with Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in the forward-deployed amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans’ (LPD 18) well deck in the Sea of Japan. New Orleans, part of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
