U.S. Space Force Lt. Gen. Stephen N. Whiting, Space Operations Command commander, receives a mission brief from the 53rd Space Operations Squadron Detachment C staff on the operations floor of the Wideband Satellite Operations Center (WSOC) in Landstuhl, Germany, Sep. 12, 2022. On Aug. 15, 2022, the WSOC’s mission responsibility transferred from the U.S. Army’s 53rd Signal Battalion to the U.S. Space Force’s Space Operations Command, under Space Delta 8’s 53rd Space Operations Squadron.
