220920-N-LI114-1020 PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 20, 2022) Culinary Specialist Seaman Kevin Barr, from New York, moves supplies onto a vertical conveyor in the hangar bay of the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during a replenishment-at-sea in the Philippine Sea, Sept. 20. Replenishments-at-sea increase the capabilities of the U.S. Navy’s carrier force, allowing ships to stay at sea indefinitely by providing fuel, food and supplies anywhere in the world. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
