U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Tajee Dawson, a criminal investigator with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, is congratulated for receiving the Impact Iwakuni Award for his volunteer efforts, Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Sept. 20, 2022. Dawson led a volunteer effort to construct ramps in the river near the Mt. Daisen area so that Giant Japanese Salamanders can reach their breeding grounds. This effort goes further than helping an endangered species by also showing the Japanese community the willingness of service members of MCAS Iwakuni improve our host nation.
