Nancy Smoyer was presented with a letter from U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Marty Walsh by Assistant Secretary James D. Rodriguez commending her for organizing the Fairbanks Stand Down for the last 24 years. Fairbanks is VETS’ northernmost Stand Down location. COL Stephen Phillips, Deputy Commander Support 11th Abn Div and COL Nathan Surrey, Garrison Commander Fort Wainwright, helped organize the event.
