A Brazilian sailor chains a U.S. Navy MH-60S Sea Hawk, assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 22, embarked aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), to the deck of the amphibious assault ship PHM Atlântico (A 140) during bi-lateral naval operations while underway in the Atlantic Ocean during exercise UNITAS LXIII, Sept. 11, 2022. UNITAS is the world’s longest-running annual multinational maritime exercise that focuses on enhancing interoperability among multiple nations and joint forces during littoral and amphibious operations in order to build on existing regional partnerships and create new enduring relationships that promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the U.S. Southern Command’s area of responsibility.
