220913-N-NO820-1807 EASTERN PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 13, 2022) Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Kansas City (LCS 22) and Independence-variant LCS USS Mobile (LCS 26) sail in formation while an MH-60 Romeo from Helicopter Maritime Strike squadron 49 flies and small boats operate in the area during an LCS Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training integrated defense exercise off the coast of southern California, Sept. 13. LCS SWATT, led by Littoral Combat Ship squadron ONE under the guidance of Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center, increases tactical and technical proficiency, lethality, interoperability and combat power of naval surface forces.
