U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Othon Perez, a landing support specialist with 3rd Landing Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, conducts a safety brief prior to a helicopter support team aerial lift training at Landing Zone Falcon, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 20, 2022. The purpose of the training was to allow Marines with 3rd LSB to maintain training and readiness qualifications while lifting a 7,000-pound load. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
